Meet Hayes! 

“Going through rush coming from in-state, there were a lot of expectations that felt hard to live up to. It was easy to assume I’d stay in my bubble by going to an in-state college and joining a sorority with so many people I already knew, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth. I’ve made some of my best friends from Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and so many more. The friendships I’ve gained in Kappa have made my college experience, and I’ve loved traveling, learning about where my sisters grew up, and seeing how they became who they are today. Rush week was one of the most nerve-wracking weeks of my life. I had so many what-ifs running through my head, but the second I walked into Kappa, something just felt different. The girls were so welcoming and kind that I immediately felt at peace. For the first time all week, I could just be myself. Kappa felt like home. To any PNM going through recruitment, trust yourself and keep an open mind. The place where you feel the most like yourself is usually the place you’re meant to be!💙”
