Amid a growing number of confirmed cases of Legionnaires' disease from an Upper East Side outbreak, there is now concern on the other side of Central Park as well.⁠

The property managers of the Ardsley, on Central Park West near 92nd Street, self-tested and confirmed legionella in the hot water system. The building does not have a cooling tower, which is where the bacteria had been found in the Upper East Side buildings.⁠

The city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene was aware of the positive result found at the Ardsley, but it was believed to be unrelated to the Upper East Side cluster.⁠
