My parents drowned out every doctor, every family member who said don’t go forth. 30% chance I’d live. They didn’t flinch. 

I spent years thinking my body was the problem, hiding my hand in Santa hats, having Andrew kick the ball so I could run the bases. 

Then I got to 30, 12 years numb on weed, building a business I was hiding behind, and realized: the doctors never broke me. 

I did that myself. The software running your ceiling isn’t the obstacle you can see.
