#YellaBeezy’s attorneys are fighting to keep his rap lyrics out of his upcoming #Mo3 m-rder trial, arguing they could unfairly influence the jury.

During a pre-trial hearing in #Dallas, the defense called a professor who testified that rap lyrics are often fictional and shouldn’t be treated as literal confessions. Prosecutors say their case is based on witness statements, physical evidence, wiretaps, social media posts, and more not just lyrics.

A judge is expected to decide whether the lyrics can be used as evidence before Beezy’s capital murder trial, which is set to begin on Aug. 24. 👀
