A WOMAN. NOT ROADKILL.

This photograph was taken after the recovery of a woman whose remains had been reported repeatedly.

For approximately nine months, the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office (Captain Brian Johnston) and the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator did not recover her despite repeated notifications.

When they finally responded...

They placed her remains on the hood of a government vehicle.

Not inside.

Not with the dignity every human being deserves.

On the hood.

Think about that.

This is the same Office of the Medical Investigator that has publicly accused humanitarian volunteers of spreading misinformation and refused to participate in interviews if Battalion Search & Rescue is involved.

Meanwhile...

We continue to search.

We continue to report human remains.

We continue to document what we find.

We continue to return to previously recovered sites and repeatedly find human remains left behind.

We have documented reported D€∆TH sites that went unanswered for months.

We have documented incomplete recoveries.

We have filed formal complaints.

We have asked for answers.

And instead of addressing those documented facts, the response has too often been to attack the volunteers who found the D€∆D.

Ask yourself a simple question:

If the government is doing its job, why does it spend so much time trying to discredit the people documenting its failures?

This isn't about politics.

It isn't about immigration.

It's about whether every human being deserves dignity in D€∆TH.

Whether the D€∆D deserve to be recovered completely.

Whether families deserve answers.

And whether public officials should be held accountable when they fail.

A woman. Not roadkill.

She deserved better.
