Imagine driving your car to a destination... then unloading another vehicle that can simply fly away. 🚐✈️

It sounds like something straight out of a science fiction movie.

But that's exactly what Chinese EV company XPENG is trying to build.

The company recently unveiled an innovative "Land Aircraft Carrier"—a futuristic electric van designed to transport its own two-seat flying car.

At first glance, it looks like an ordinary six-wheeled electric van.

But hidden inside the rear compartment is something extraordinary.

A fully electric eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft.

With the push of a button, the rear section opens, the aircraft rolls out, unfolds its arms and propellers, and prepares for takeoff within minutes.

Instead of driving through traffic, the aircraft is designed to lift off vertically and fly directly to its destination.

The concept combines two different forms of transportation into a single system.

The van acts as both a transporter and a mobile charging station, carrying the aircraft safely over long distances while recharging it between flights.

This solves one of the biggest challenges facing personal flying vehicles today: range.

Rather than forcing the aircraft to fly hundreds of kilometers, the van handles the road journey while the aircraft is only used for the final stretch where flying offers the greatest advantage.

It's a completely different way of thinking about transportation.

Behind this project is XPENG AeroHT, the company's aerospace division, which has spent years developing electric aircraft capable of vertical takeoff without requiring traditional runways.

Unlike helicopters, eVTOL aircraft rely on multiple electric motors, making them quieter, mechanically simpler, and potentially more affordable to operate.
