Today, we are crowning founder and CEO of Little Words Project, Adriana Carrig, as our #QueenoftheWeek 👑

Growing up in Livingston, NJ, jewelry was always a part of Carrig’s life. Her mother, a Mexican immigrant, married into an Italian family that owned a jewelry company specializing in home parties. Jewelry was woven throughout her childhood and she still has pieces her parents made for her as a baby. As she got older, Carrig experienced bullying from classmates at school. During the hardest times, she turned to beading to cope. She’d make bracelets with words like “laugh” or “breathe” to help her navigate through tough times.

Later, when Carrig found herself at The College of New Jersey, she connected with sisters in her sorority who made her feel seen and supported in ways she hadn’t felt before. As a member of her sorority, she’d share the bracelets she’d spend years making to help herself with others so they could feel the support too. This experience drove Carrig’s idea to start a brand that allowed her to give her bracelets with kind and inspiring words to others with the hope that they would eventually be passed on to someone else who needed one. And thus, Little Words Project was born.

After graduation, Carrig started the business in her parents’ basement, where together, they filled beaded letters, made bracelets, and shipped orders by hand. The company officially launched in 2013 and has since grown into a multimillion-dollar jewelry and lifestyle brand. Beyond its success for fashionable bracelets, Little Words Project has kept its mission of spreading kindness at its core. Each bracelet now comes with a unique ID tag that allows customers to connect with an online community, and the company also runs a year-round initiative called Little Words, Big Impact, featuring bracelets that give back by donating a portion of every purchase to nonprofits and organizations in need.

Thank you, Queen, for making the world a kinder place, one bracelet at a time 💜 #SIXBroadway #SIXUSTour
