12. Utah (3-0)
13. Oklahoma (3-0)
14. Kansas State (3-0)
15. Oklahoma State (3-0)
16. LSU (2-1)

Texas ascended to the top ranking for the first time in the poll's history, partly as a result of previous No. 1 Georgia's narrow 13-12 victory over unranked Kentucky on Saturday night.

The Longhorns, despite losing starting quarterback Quinn Ewers to injury during the game, breezed to a 56-7 victory over UTSA when backup Arch Manning starred in UT's third straight victory.

In fact, no team in the Super 16 lost this past week. And 15 of the same 16 teams remained in the poll from a week ago. Only No. 16 Michigan fell out when it beat unranked Arkansas State by a 28-18 score. The Wolverines were replaced by LSU which barely survived at South Carolina, 36-33.

Georgia dropped from the top spot for the first time this season, but still had strong support in the No. 2 spot with 24 first-place votes to Texas (26). The Bulldogs remained ahead of No. 3 Ohio State, followed by Alabama, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Five of the first six teams were from the Southeastern Conference, with only the Buckeyes, the non-SEC team, in that group.

In all, the SEC had seven teams in the poll this week, including Missouri (No. 11) and LSU (No. 16). The Big Ten and Big 12 had four teams each and the ACC one.
