Nueva York amplió significativamente la investigación por el brote de la enfermedad del legionario en Manhattan. Un total de 76 edificios tienen torres de enfriamiento que dieron positivo a rastros de la bacteria Legionella mediante pruebas PCR, más del doble de los 31 edificios informados inicialmente.⁠

Hasta la última actualización oficial, el brote suma 63 casos confirmados, con 12 personas hospitalizadas, 40 dadas de alta y ningún fallecimiento. Los casos están relacionados principalmente con el área del Upper East Side que incluye el MET, Carnegie Hill y Yorkville, en los códigos postales 10028, 10128 y 10075.⁠
