Riverbed Patrol Leads to Firearm Arrest

On Monday, our Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) deputies were conducting foot patrol checks in the Santa Clara Riverbed when they contacted a man and a woman. One of the deputies recognized the man as having an outstanding warrant.

During their investigation, deputies discovered the pair was in possession of a backpack containing a loaded firearm. The woman was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia.

The 39-year-old man and the 36-year-old woman were arrested on felony weapons charges and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.

From our neighborhoods to the riverbed, our deputies remain proactive in identifying criminal activity and holding those who break the law accountable.
