PJ Tucker and Jeff Teague admitted that after getting blown out in the first two games against Brooklyn in 2021, they honestly didn’t feel like they had much of a chance. The Nets looked completely unstoppable, and Kevin Durant was playing like there was nobody on the planet capable of guarding him.

KD was scoring from everywhere, rising over defenders, hitting contested jumpers and making Milwaukee’s defense look helpless. Kyrie Irving was cooking too, and even with James Harden dealing with an injury, Brooklyn still looked like the far superior team. After those first two games, it felt like the Bucks were about to get sent home quickly.

Everything changed once Kyrie went down with an injury on top of Harden already being limited. That was the moment Milwaukee finally realized the door was open and that they actually had a chance to survive the series.

Even without his co-stars fully healthy, KD continued putting together legendary performances and nearly carried Brooklyn past Milwaukee by himself. He gave the Bucks everything they could handle, including that unforgettable Game 7 performance where he was inches away from ending their entire season.

But Giannis and the Bucks kept fighting, took advantage of the opportunity and eventually escaped the series before going on to win the championship. Milwaukee deserves credit for finishing the job, but there’s no denying that injuries completely changed the direction of that series.

A healthy Nets team looked unbeatable, and PJ Tucker and Jeff Teague basically confirmed that they felt the exact same way. KD was that unguardable in 2021. 😭🔥
