Buying something new for a room that feels off is not the solution. Vary the scale.

What that means in practice: if you have a large sofa sitting alone against a wall, it’s going to look unfinished no matter what you put on it, because there’s nothing around it to give it a sense of proportion. A smaller piece next to it, even a low stool or a small chair, can act like a full stop at the end of a sentence.

The same logic works in corners. A weird, empty one isn’t necessarily asking for a plant, but for something with volume; a chair, a low stool, anything that brings visual weight to the space.

To do this, walk through every room and look for the objects that don’t currently have a place. The stool in the hallway. The small chair nobody sits in. If nobody sits on it, it might as well become a proper decor piece.

Your room needs the right relationship between the things that are already there 💜
