Here’s your morning minute.
New research shows avocado can decrease your long-term risk of heart disease.
The study found those who ate avocados daily for six months saw a reduction in LDL particles— think bad cholesterol.
That’s thanks to Unsaturated fats, fiber and other properties in avocado.
 
The recent cyclospora concerns—think explosive diarrhea—may have been bad for some lettuce and berry businesses.
But it’s been a boost for small farm and produce stands—think farmers markets.
Health experts say locally grown produce is often safer.
There’s also a better chance of knowing the water source, compared to massive farming operations in another country.
 
But if you need a break from salads and avocados… what better day than today?
It’s national junk food day!
Pre-packaged junk food like chips, chocolate and cake became a staple of American life after World War Two.
These foods are typically high in fat, sugar, salt and yes, even calories!
Though these shouldn’t be everday eats.
