For as long as I can remember, birthdays meant planning every detail. Making sure everyone felt included, trying to spend enough time with every friend & carrying the responsibility of creating a meaningful experience for everyone else.

This year, I let go.

I let Daniel take the reins & for the first time, I wasn’t responsible for creating the memories.

I simply got to live them.

Thank you to my amazing hubby for making this birthday so special. Thank you to Amy (lewkcbmom), Stella (swoopsbystella), & Nicki (nickisun) for pouring so much love into every detail. And to my friends who made time, who drove hours, flew in from different states & countries jetlaggged & those who wished me happy birthday, thank you. I felt every bit of your love.

This was the first birthday where Presley got to celebrate alongside the people who have helped shape my life.

Looking around the room, I realized something…

The greatest gift isn’t another year.

It’s having people who make every year worth remembering.
