The request for FOIA exemptions comes as the U.S. troop death toll in Iran has risen to 17 and the State Department issued a worldwide warning for Americans living abroad. Retired Lt. Gen. Mark Kimmitt and former FBI and CIA counterterrorism official Phil Mudd discuss the state of play. 

Monday morning, a 43-year-old Army veteran set off an explosive device outside a Manhattan federal building housing DHS and FBI offices in New York City. Investigators say he carried an "ICE Off Our Streets" sign and anti-ICE literature. Border czar Tom Homan blamed anti-ICE rhetoric from the left for inspiring the attack, but is he missing what is causing the growing anger against the agency? Latest case in point is a new report finding the FBI will stop investigating assault claims involving immigration agents. Scott Schuchart, former ICE assistant director and senior DHS adviser for the Civil Rights Division debates the issue with Todd Bensman, former adviser to Homan.

Jury selection is underway in the case of Lindsay Clancy. She was a Massachusetts mother and former labor and delivery nurse who strangled her three young children to death using elastic exercise bands in 2023. Clancy then tried to kill herself by jumping out a window and ultimately paralyzing herself. The trial will focus on whether she was criminally responsible for her actions. Her lawyers plan to use an insanity defense, saying Clancy was suffering from postpartum psychosis. Defense attorney and former prosecutor Mark Eiglarsh examines the defense.
