Some people think my Road to 5.0 is about becoming a better pickleball player.
It’s not👟👟
It’s about becoming the version of myself I’ve been avoiding.
Every time I walk onto the court carrying extra weight, I wonder if people notice before they notice my game.
Every workout reminds me how far I’ve let myself drift from the athlete I used to be.
And if I’m honest…that’s the part that scares me.
Not losing a match.
Not missing a shot.
Showing up when I don’t feel like I’m enough🫠
There are mornings I don’t want to train. I don’t want to stretch. I don’t want to eat the healthy meal. I don’t want to do physical therapy.
That’s when I realize something:
No one is coming to parent me anymore.
I’m the one who has to tell myself:
Get up.
Drink the water💦
Do the workout🏋️‍♀️
Take care of your body🤍
Keep the promise🙏🏻
Because discipline isn’t punishment👏🏼
It’s self-respect.
At almost 40, I’m done waiting to “feel motivated.”
I’m building someone I can trust.
Someone Ava will watch and learn from.
Someone who doesn’t quit when progress is slow.
This Road to 5.0 isn’t just about earning a rating.
It’s about proving to myself that I can become stronger than the voice that tells me to stay comfortable 💯 

One workout.
One choice.
One promise kept at a time.
This is bigger than pickleball.
This is the road back to me.
