અમદાવાદ જિલ્લાના સાણંદમાં ટાઉન પોલીસે પ્રોહિબિશન વિરોધી અભિયાન દરમિયાન મોટી કાર્યવાહી હાથ ધરી છે. કડી-સાણંદ રોડ પર આવેલા ભાવનપુરા ચેકપોસ્ટ નજીક ખાનગી બાતમીના આધારે પોલીસે ચેકિંગ ગોઠવ્યું હતું.ચેકિંગ દરમિયાન એક ફોર્ચ્યુનર કારને રોકવાનો પ્રયાસ કરતાં કારચાલકે પુરપાટ ઝડપે વાહન હંકારી પોલીસને ચકમો આપવાનો પ્રયાસ કર્યો હતો. પોલીસે પીછો કરીને કાર કબજે કરી તપાસ કરતાં વિવિધ બ્રાન્ડની ભારતીય બનાવટના વિદેશી દારૂની કુલ 1,524 બોટલો મળી આવી હતી. પોલીસે દારૂ અને ફોર્ચ્યુનર કાર સહિત રૂ. 14.78 લાખથી વધુનો મુદ્દામાલ જપ્ત કર્યો છે. જોકે કારચાલક અને તેનો એક સાગરીત સ્થળ પરથી ફરાર થઈ જવામાં સફળ રહ્યા હતા. બંને સામે પ્રોહિબિશન એક્ટ હેઠળ ગુનો નોંધી પોલીસે તેમની શોધખોળ તેજ કરી છે તેમજ દારૂનો જથ્થો ક્યાંથી લાવવામાં આવ્યો હતો અને કોના માટે લઈ જવાતો હતો તે સહિતની દિશામાં વધુ તપાસ શરૂ કરી છે.
