HOW TO TALK ABOUT MY OBSESSION?
A question I get asked very often: How do I start a conversation with her about my foot or shoe obsession?
My name is Markus M. Mey, author of the book “Am I Normal? Understanding Foot & Shoe Obsessions” available in different languages on Amazon.
Lets get into it:
Want to know one of the smartest ways to talk about your own obsession?
Do not start with yourself.
Start with her.
Ask her what she likes.
Ask her what makes her feel desired.
Ask her what kind of intimacy she enjoys.
Ask her what she has always wanted to try.
And then listen.
Really listen.
Because many men make the same mistake.
They finally build up the courage to talk…
and then the whole conversation becomes about their needs, their triggers, their fantasies.
But a relationship is not a presentation.
It is not:
‘Here is what I need. Please understand it.’
It is a conversation.
And when you show real interest in her world first, something changes.
She feels seen.
She feels safe.
She feels that you are not asking her to perform something for you.
You are inviting her into a shared conversation.
And from there, it becomes much easier to say something simple like:
‘There is something I find very attractive about you.’
‘When you wear those shoes, it really does something to me.’
‘I think your feet are beautiful.’
That is very different from making her feel like she has suddenly entered a world she does not understand.
The best relationships are not built around one person’s obsession.
They are built around curiosity.
Curiosity about each other.
So before you ask her to understand your world…
make sure you have taken the time to understand hers.
Like this video if you agree.
