One of the biggest worries I hear before every session is, “I’m so awkward in photos.” The truth is, almost every senior says that. My job isn’t to expect you to know what to do—it’s to guide you every step of the way so your photos feel effortless, natural, and like you.

Here are a few of my favorite go-to poses that always create a gallery full of variety:

🌾 Twirling — Adds movement and creates those dreamy, candid moments.
🤍 Playing with a strand of hair — Gives your hands something natural to do and instantly makes your pose feel less stiff.
🎞️ Squatting or sitting in the grass — Creates a relaxed, editorial look and is always a client favorite.
✨ Leaning against a wall, barn, or tree — Takes the pressure off posing and gives your body a natural shape.
📸 Looking away from the camera — Some of the most beautiful photos happen when you’re not looking straight into the lens.

The secret? Don’t focus on “posing perfectly.” Focus on moving, laughing, and trusting the process. Those little in-between moments are almost always the ones that end up being your favorites.
