The Red Sox's current win streak reminded Rudy of Nebraska Wesleyan's 2025 baseball team. Rudy was part of the program's longest win streak since 1991, but the team never focused on the streak itself.

"Yes, you want to win the game, but you can't win the game unless you win the at-bat. And you can't win the at-bat unless you win the pitch. And that goes for both sides of the ball."

That was the mindset. Win the pitch. Win the at-bat. Stack enough of those together, and the wins take care of themselves. The streak becomes the result, not the goal.
