2018... a season that now feels like the last chapter of an unforgettable era..

Roger Federer opened the year by defending his Australian Open title and reminding everyone he was still magic.

Then came the clay, where Rafael Nadal did what only Rafa could do, lifting yet another French Open trophy.

But the biggest story belonged to Novak Djokovic.. after months of injuries and doubts, he completed one of the greatest comebacks in tennis history by winning Wimbledon and the US Open, reclaiming his place at the top.

Juan Martín del Potro was back competing with the very best. He won Indian Wells Masters, his first Masters 1000 title, reached the US Open final, and pushed the Big Three all season.

Dominic Thiem established himself as the biggest threat to Rafael Nadal on clay. He won in Buenos Aires, Lyon and St. Petersburg, beat Nadal on clay in Madrid, reached his first Grand Slam final at the French Open, and looked destined to become a future major champion.

Alexander Zverev captured the ATP Finals, and young stars like Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev were just beginning to announce themselves.

Kei Nishikori completed an inspiring comeback after missing much of 2017 with a wrist injury. He returned to the top 10, reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon and the semifinals of the US Open, where he lost to Djokovic

Looking back, it was a season where the Big Three still ruled the tennis world, yet you could already feel that a new generation was quietly waiting for its turn.
