With five races now in the books, the championship battle in the 2026 Ontario Sportsman Series season presented by Gulf Fuels Canada and InstantBond has taken a dramatic turn. Following an action packed Gulf Race Fuels 100 presented by Foxy's Speed Shop, the tides have definitely shifted as we reach the halfway point of the season.

Before we dive into the standings, we'd like to acknowledge that Two Speed Motorsports has made the decision to step away from competition for the remainder of the 2026 season. While we're saddened to see a respected team leave the series, we sincerely thank them for their contributions and wish the entire organization nothing but success in their future ventures.

With the departure of a team that occupied both the first and second positions in the championship, the title fight has been completely reshaped, opening the door for a new group of contenders to battle for the championship.

Leading the way is Shawn Mcglynn, who now sits atop the standings with 457 points. While his advantage isn't overwhelming, he's put himself in an excellent position heading into the second half of the season. After an incredibly strong stretch of races, Kevin Trevellin has surged into second place with 426 points, carrying plenty of momentum as the championship battle heats up. In third, Sean Mangin and the #47 machine continue the campaign with an impressive 414 points, keeping himself firmly in the hunt for the top spot. Fresh off an outstanding podium finish, Donavin Clark climbs into fourth with 403 points, proving the rookie is quickly becoming a bi-weekly contender. Rounding out the top five is Cooper Aubertin, sitting just three points behind Clark with an even 400 points, setting up what should be a great battle as the season continues.

There were no penalties or technical infractions issued following Race 5. However, a scoring discrepancy was identified following the second last and final caution with the 8 and 47 being scored incorrectly as a lap down after entering pit lane. After reviewing the race, those scoring errors have been corrected and the championship standings have been updated accordingly.
