## Caption

On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the Moon. Armstrong and Aldrin spent 21 hours on the lunar surface, setting up scientific experiments and collecting samples. Apollo 11 splashed down in the Pacific on July 24.

Now, we're going back — this time, to stay. We're building NASAMoonBase to establish humanity's first outpost on the lunar surface; our NASAArtemis missions will send humans to the Moon to live, work, and explore. Artemis IV is scheduled to land astronauts near the Moon's South Pole in early 2028.
