I run, then lift. This habit changed both!

The Athlete Cut - Ep. 03: Meal Timing and the most important meal of my day.

This is the one habit that changed my double session days.

On speed days, recovery from Session 1 is the preparation for Session 2. I keep the hard days hard so Leg day in the gym comes right after a threshold or vo2 max workout.

The goal is to restore glycogen before asking my muscles to perform again. If you skip that window, the lift suffers without a doubt.
You want to have quality sessions to maximize progress.

Within 30 minutes of finishing the run, before I touch any weight, I get in 25g protein, 60g carbs, and keep the fats low. Low fat means faster absorption. Faster absorption means I walk into the gym ready to perform instead of still digesting.

Greek yogurt, fruit, honey, small bagel with turkey.

3 weeks in: threshold pace improved, long runs feel easier, body fat is down, and gym strength stable.

One habit that allows every outcome I’ve been chasing.
If you do two a days, fuel both sessions.

Follow for Episode 4 next week, Carb distribution by day.
