The 116th Military Intelligence Brigade executed their inaugural change of command ceremony on Fort Hood between Col. Matthew McGraw, outgoing commander, to Col. Nathan Lewis, incoming commander, and uncased their colors as a new unit within the iiiarmoredcorps footprint.

With the uncasing of the colors, the unit recognized the relocation from Fort Gordon, Georgia, to Fort Hood, Texas. For almost two decades, the brigade operated out of Fort Gordon, Fort Stewart, Georgia, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia and Fort Bliss, Texas.
