🚀 That's a wrap on our two-week AWT AeroMFG STEM Camp! ✈️🌙

What an incredible two weeks of hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration!

Our campers discovered the science of manufacturing and worked together through exciting projects and real-world experiences. Throughout camp, students:
🔹 Built a motorized thaumatrope
🔹 Created galaxy oobleck and their own constellations
🔹 Made moon rocks and designed lunar landers
🔹 Learned blueprint reading while building LEGO spaceships
🔹 Designed rockets for sphero robot races
🔹 Tested the science of flight with paper helicopters
🔹 Used edible ingredients for chocolate welding and gumdrop bridges

Students also had the opportunity to see aerospace manufacturing in action through tours of componentrepair and nacl_ind, while professionals from bwxtechnologies and lubrizol visited camp to share their expertise and inspire the next generation of innovators. A sincere thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping students connect classroom concepts to real careers. Thank you to laketranbus for being our trusted provider for safe transportation of the students.

We concluded the camp with our Celebration Luncheon, where campers proudly demonstrated their projects for parents, families, and guests. The highlight of the afternoon was hearing two students present what they learned and how the experience impacted them. Seeing their confidence and enthusiasm was a wonderful way to end an outstanding two weeks.

We extend our appreciation to Katie Burger from Representative David Joyce's office for joining us to present proclamations recognizing our campers' accomplishments.
