If you’re new to tennis, don’t copy pro setups.
Your strings should help you learn, not punish mistakes.

① String type: keep it simple
Use: Multifilament or Synthetic Gut
	•	Softer feel
	•	More forgiving on mishits
	•	Easier on the arm

❌ Avoid full polyester for now. It’s stiff and unforgiving.

② Tension: the sweet spot
48–52 lbs is ideal
If you want one safe number: 50 lbs
	•	Lower tension = more power & comfort
	•	Higher tension = more control (and less forgiveness)

Beginners benefit from confidence and depth, not laser precision.

③ Hybrid strings?
Not yet.
	•	Mixing strings adds complexity
	•	Harder to feel what’s working or not

👉 One string, one tension = faster improvement.

④ Grip setup (bonus tip)
	•	Keep the default base grip
	•	Add 1 overgrip for comfort and sweat control

Don’t stack grips or replace things early. Comfort first.

⑤ When to restring
	•	Not when it breaks
	•	When it feels dead, stiff, or inconsistent
	•	Usually every 2–4 months for beginners who play weekly
