Michelle Freedberg is a licensed therapist who has spent more than 15 years specializing in women’s mental health. She has a love-hate relationship with social media, with stretches where she’s gone off it completely.

Her question for the feed cuts through all of it: what’s the criteria of this person telling me how I should live? They just happen to have a lot of followers.

“It can feel just like a constant barrage of somebody else telling you how to live.”
