Replacing plastic with materials that are good for the planet 🌍

We visited Uluu’s test plant in Perth to see how they're turning farmed seaweed into a biodegradable plastic alternative - a material that acts like plastic but is reusable, recyclable, compostable and even breaks down in the ocean without microplastics.

By using seaweed instead of fossil fuels, Uluu’s materials can be climate-positive, capturing carbon as the seaweed grows and helping restore ocean health by reducing pollution and supporting regenerative seaweed farming.

👉 Hear more from Michelle Wheeler, Communications Lead at Uluu on this episode of 60 Sec Climate Champions | Ep. 29.

📍 At every SailGP venue, we spotlight local climate heroes making a real impact. Know a project we should feature? DM us, comment, or tag them!
