Here’s what new:

• 16.6MP full-frame stacked sensor powered by the new BIONZ XR2 processor with a dedicated AI chip

• Three Base ISO settings: 800 / 4,000 / 12,800

• More than 15 stops of dynamic range

• Full-frame 5K Open Gate (3:2) recording

• Internal 16-bit X-OCN RAW, including X-OCN LT plus the new C1 and C2 compression modes

• 4.5K up to 120fps available at launch, with 5K/120fps and 4K/240fps planned in a firmware update scheduled for August 2027 or later

• New 1.8x anamorphic de-squeeze support

• CineAlta user interface inherited from the VENICE 2 and BURANO

• AI-powered subject recognition autofocus

• Built-in False Color with its own dedicated hardware button

• Dual CFexpress Type A card slots, proxy recording, networking, USB timecode, and tethering support

• Optional removable EVF alongside a new fully articulating 3.5-inch LCD

• 32-bit float audio support when paired with Sony’s redesigned XLR top handle

On paper, this is one of the biggest Cinema Line updates we’ve seen in years.
