The FX5 brings several major upgrades to Sony’s Cinema Line.

Some of the biggest highlights include:
• 16.6MP full-frame stacked sensor with the new BIONZ XR2 processor and dedicated AI chip

• Three Base ISO (800 / 4,000 / 12,800)

• More than 15 stops of dynamic range

• Full-frame 5K Open Gate (3:2)

• Internal 16-bit X-OCN RAW recording with X-OCN LT, plus the new C1 and C2 compression options

• 4.5K up to 120fps available at launch, with Sony planning 5K/120fps and 4K/240fps via a future firmware update August 2027 or later

• New 1.8x anamorphic de-squeeze option

• CineAlta interface inherited from the VENICE 2 and BURANO

• AI-powered subject recognition autofocus

• Built-in False Color with a dedicated hardware button

• Two CFexpress Type A card slots, proxy recording, networking, USB timecode and tethering

• Optional removable EVF and a new fully articulating 3.5-inch LCD

• 32-bit float audio support when using Sony’s redesigned XLR top handle
