兩個原本獨立的螺旋星系，在幾億年前因為重力相遇，從此緊緊擁抱、相互交融。它們在碰撞中撕扯出長長的「觸角」尾巴，看起來卻像一顆被命運拉扯成的心形。在這場宇宙級的「擁抱」中，氣體雲劇烈壓縮，引發強烈的星爆現象，短時間內誕生了超過1000個超大星團，哈勃望遠鏡捕捉到的畫面裡，粉紅星雲與藍色新生恆星團正熱烈綻放，數十億顆新星正在這場星際碰撞中誕生。
