This was my third year in a row at camp abilities in Cincinnati, Ohio and every year it feels more and more like family. Watching the kids grow in height and confidence as another year passes. There is something special about a place where you’re not the only blind person around but in a group where you can all relate in so many different ways to each other. We’re all family in a strange way and we make it through a whole year looking forward to being together again. The lessons we learn at camp carry us on and help us advocate for ourselves in calm and respectful ways. It’s my home away from home #blind #camp #summer #dayinmylife #friendship
