7th-Grade scientists take charge of their learning through hands-on experiments!  

Students investigated chemical reactions and enzymes by mixing hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and yeast.  Hydrogen peroxide typically breaks down slowly into water and oxygen, but yeast acts as a catalyst that speeds up the reaction, resulting in elephant toothpaste!    #ollindy #leadingacademically #stemeducation
