## Caption

Over the last few weeks, I’ve had a realization that’s been hard to put into words.

For the first time in a very long time… I feel at peace.

Finishing this album gave me something I wasn’t expecting.

Closure.

For years I thought what I wanted was a bigger audience. More listeners. More followers. More attention.

But somewhere along the way, I realized that’s not what I’ve been searching for at all.

The happiest I’ve been lately hasn’t had anything to do with numbers or social media.

It’s been the quiet moments.

Time with people I love.

Road trips.

Dressing up.

My career.

Building a life that actually feels like mine.

Making this album reminded me of something else too.

I still love creating.

I just don’t love living my life in public.

I don’t love feeling like I owe strangers constant access to me. I don’t love turning every hobby into content or every accomplishment into something I have to market.

I think I just want to be Alison.

I’ll probably always make art. Music. Photos. Whatever inspires me.

The difference is, I don’t think I’ll be making it for an audience anymore.

I’ll make it because I want to.

Because it makes my life richer.

If you happen to find it one day and it means something to you, that’s beautiful.

If not, that’s okay too.

I made it for me anyway.

Alice Anarchy came into my life when I needed her most.

She was loud when I didn’t know how to speak.

She was fearless when I was terrified.

She carried me through some of the hardest years of my life, and I’m grateful for everything she gave me.

But I don’t think I need her anymore.

I think I’m finally okay just being Alison.

I’m leaving all the music exactly where it is.

If Alice Anarchy ever helped you feel understood, gave you strength, or simply made you feel a little less alone, she’ll still be there whenever you need her.

From the bottom of my heart…

Thank you.

For listening.

For believing in me.

For growing up with me.

And for helping me find a life that I no longer feel the need to escape from.

I think it’s finally time for me to go live it.

🤍
