I’ve been sharing reflections from my daily practice and studies in Buddhist philosophy and ethics. I’m far from perfect. I’m just sharing my lived experiences and insights from conversations with friends, meditation practitioners, and people I connect with along the way.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how often triangulation and jealousy are used as subtle tools for self-validation... and how deeply cruel they actually are.

Triangulation happens when a third person is brought into a relationship dynamic, either through flirting, unchecked boundaries, or blurred lines. When someone allows a third party to trigger their partner's jealousy—and especially when they laugh it off or minimize it—they aren't being "detached" or "harmless." They are planting seeds of doubt in someone else's mind to feed their own vanity.

Using jealousy to feel wanted creates a toxic environment where trust cannot survive. It flips the blame onto the person feeling hurt, forcing them onto an emotional roller coaster while the other person avoids taking any real responsibility.

It takes immense mental strength and a grounded practice to stay healthy when this becomes a pattern around you.

We all come from pain, and no one is perfect, we’ve all made mistakes. But true growth requires us to look in the mirror, acknowledge our passivity, and hold ourselves accountable for the impact of our actions.

Building basic empathy isn't about feeling moral or superior; it’s about creating a safe, brave world—one I want my child to grow up in. Asking for accountability isn't being "childish" or playing the victim. It’s a boundary. And honoring that boundary is where true self-respect begins.
