Jonathan Toews, who won three Stanley Cup championships in six seasons along with Kane and the Blackhawks, was asked by The Athletic how he felt about “Showtime’s” return to the Windy City, and his reaction was perfect.

“We were texting, and as happy as I am for him, I told him I’m straight up jealous that he’s gonna get to play for the Hawks again,” Toews said.

Toews also said the team is “headed in the right direction” with the signing of Kane, who will likely skate with Connor Bedard as the team looks to get their star player a top-six winger to play alongside.
