A man was shot and killed by police in Madison, Wisconsin, on Wednesday afternoon during a physical struggle with several officers, authorities said.

The shooting occurred after Madison Police Department officers responded to the Marquette neighborhood for a report of a person who was stealing bicycles and checking vehicle doors, authorities said. The officers located the man, but he then fled on a bike.
