Thinking about leaving employment to start your own business? 💭

At our recent Crouch End Skills Workshop, hosted by the brilliant Elsie & Dominika from twotiredmums_ , we unpacked what it really takes to make the leap into entrepreneurship.

Spoiler: it’s rarely one big jump. More often, it’s lots of small, intentional steps.

Here we’ve shared some of their biggest pieces of advice:

👉Understand what’s pushing you away from employment, and what’s pulling you towards building something of your own.

👉Test your idea before you quit. One paying client is worth more than months of overthinking. (The MOB community is a great place to do this!)

👉Remember that many businesses start quietly, during mat leave, evenings or weekends, long before anyone sees them.

👉Get honest about your finances. Knowing your numbers gives you confidence, not fear.

There may never be a “perfect” time to start. But with the right preparation, you can make the decision from a place of clarity rather than uncertainty.
