Arizona DPS has a suspect at large, and it has feathers.

On July 15, Highway Patrol dispatch got a call about a chicken westbound on US-60 at the Mesa Drive off-ramp. A state trooper responded and located the bird, then tried to apprehend it.

The chicken was not interested in cooperating. It fled the scene, and DPS says no details about the chicken or its whereabouts are known at this time.

Or as the troopers put it, why did the chicken cross the road? We will never know. It got away.
