An Arizona behavioral health clinic received nearly $295,000 from Medicaid while allegedly using ChatGPT to create patient notes that employees copied and pasted for billing, according to state investigators.

Arizona’s Medicaid agency also alleges Sacred Circles of Healing and Wellness offered $500 bonuses for recruiting Native American patients. The Tuba City clinic and two people connected to its operations have been excluded from participating in the AHCCCS program for five years.

The allegations remain under investigation by the FBI, according to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
