The #Philadelphia76ers jump into Top-5 contender status with the addition of LeBron James. I’d have them as high as 4th, out of respect for New York, Oklahoma City and SanAnton

I was adamant as #freeagency dragged on that Philadelphia was LeBron’s best basketball fit. They have enough players filling key roles like ball handling, point-of-attack defense, and isolation defense so that LeBron won’t be stretched thin on either end of the floor. Excellent athleticism across the roster also bodes well!

They’ll probably have to look into backup Center upgrades later in the season if Bona-Hukporti-Broome don’t work out—you just can’t rely on Joel Embiid for extended stretches.

I think ultimately it made sense for LeBron to avoid the Western Conference and the juggernauts of OKC and San Antonio.

Miami’s roster is rather thin or speculative, and the basketball fit in Cleveland with Harden-Mitchell-LeBron would have been absolutely atrocious on both sides of the ball.

Very excited to see how this plays out for Philly. I think LeBron just gave himself the best chance to compete for his 5th #championship in his age 42 season🔥
