Yesterday was a truly special moment for me. I had the honour of moderating a powerful and heartfelt conversation, and I’m so grateful to the Jamal Edwards Self-Belief (JESB) Trust for the opportunity, and to my mentor Reece for believing in me and giving me the space to step into this role.

Our guest was Brenda Edwards, singer, actor, and mother of Jamal Edwards, the visionary behind SBTV and the Self-Belief movement. Brenda is now continuing Jamal’s legacy through the incredible work of JESB, and the way she spoke about her journey, her purpose, and her unwavering belief in young people was deeply inspiring.

She’s faced immense challenges, yet still shows up with strength, warmth, and a powerful sense of purpose; living proof of what resilience and self-belief look like in action.

What JESBT is doing is so important. This work is about unlocking purpose through self-belief, especially for young people who face real barriers to opportunity and employment. It’s about helping them see what’s possible, and giving them the support to believe in it.

There’s so much great work happening already, and I’m genuinely excited to be part of the journey ahead.

This is just the beginning. 🙏🏾💙
