Still trying to process this one! 😅

So this morning I had the honour of meeting the legendary Stan Smith and his business partner Gary Neibur for a special breakfast. 

The morning began with introductions from the brothers, each telling Stan and Gary their personal life story. It was amazing to be able to share my tennis journey with them both; two former professional players, and receive such kind, thoughtful feedback. To feel seen and heard by people at that level meant the world to me!

Following the introductions we had a lovely breakfast prepared by the wonderful staff at the Dorchester Hotel. During this time, we had the chance to ask questions, hear stories, and just listen to someone who has lived through generations of tennis evolution, broken barriers, and stayed committed to giving back.

Both Stan and Gary explained their events business, giving us insights into how they have created a sustainable platform built on trust. Their whole approach is built around something they call SERVE: Strategise, Engage, Recreate, Volley, Elevate, all focused on creating meaningful connections through sport, hospitality, and intentional design.

What struck me most about Stan wasn’t just his achievements, it was his warm heart, humility, and awareness. Here’s a man who’s done it all, yet carries himself with such grounded energy. His openness to wanting to do more, even with everything he’s already accomplished, was truly inspiring. It reminded me that greatness isn’t just about what you’ve achieved, it’s about how you use your platform to keep lifting others.

This opportunity came through two people I’m so grateful to call mentors, Lord Michael Hastings and my brother Reece Placid, who both continue to open doors for me and share opportunities. Thank you both for believing in me and making this happen 🙏🏾🎾🖤
