There are places that don’t ask you to do anything except slow down.

The Cotswolds is one of them.

Mornings begin with rain tapping against centuries-old stone cottages. The roads wind through rolling hills where sheep outnumber people, and every village feels like it belongs in another era. By afternoon you’re warming up in a cozy pub with a pint by the fire, and by evening the only sounds are birds, church bells, and the occasional tractor disappearing down a narrow country lane.

It’s the kind of place that reminds you life doesn’t always have to move at full speed.

If you could spend one quiet weekend anywhere in England, I don’t think you could do much better than this.
