I said “just try” more times than I can count. I meant it with everything in me - I wanted my daughter to know I believed in her.

It never once worked. 

Not because she didn’t want to try. Because her body wasn’t in a place where trying was even possible yet.

It took me a long time to understand that. Longer than I’d like to admit. 

But once I stopped asking for effort and started building safety instead, everything moved - slowly, then faster than I expected.

She missed over 100 days of school in one year alone . She’s now at his first-choice university.

If you’ve said “just try” a hundred times this year and it hasn’t landed once - that’s not you failing them. That’s the same gap I lived in for years. 

There’s a way through it.
We did it. 
So can you.
