Two of the nation’s oldest Black-owned financial institutions; Optus Bank and M&F Bank are merging to create the largest Black-owned bank in the United States. This $105 million deal brings together more than 220 years of banking history and about $1.3 billion in assets, strengthening their ability to expand access to capital, support small businesses, finance affordable housing, and invest in underserved communities.
