Analysis: Florida State has already named Ashton Daniels as the starting quarterback after spring camp. As a result, the Seminoles have their lead guy in place, while other teams on their schedule are currently in battles. Daniels is a veteran who has been around college football for a long time during his stints with Stanford and Auburn. He has navigated through plenty of obstacles during his career, and the career 24 touchdowns and 22 interceptions have fans wondering why the Seminoles went back to the portal for another quarterback without giving Kevin Sperry or Malachi Marshall much of a chance. Florida State is in win-now mode with suffering six losing seasons in eight years. The coaching staff looks to be taking a risk on Daniels, but the two-game sample size at the end of the year against Vanderbilt and Alabama might be too good to pass up, as he recorded 809 total yards and five total touchdowns.
