Vegas Filmmaker Mary Patel-Gallagher Explores the Fragile Depths of the Human Mind with Mouser, Now Available on Fandango

Psychological horror fans should get their eyes on Mouser immediately. The latest feature from writer and director Mary Patel-Gallagher is an unsettling independent thriller filmed in Las Vegas that follows Eleanor, a young woman battling severe mental illness whose grip on reality begins to unravel after a night out. As terrifying visions of a sinister talking cat known as Mouser begin to consume her, the boundaries between hallucination and reality become increasingly impossible to distinguish.

Starring Romina Valenti and Gavin O’Fearraigh, Mouser uses a tense psychological approach to explore Eleanor’s deteriorating sense of reality, relying on atmosphere, paranoia and uncertainty rather than traditional horror conventions. Adding to the film’s unnerving presence is Stephen Moeller as the diabolical Mouser, delivering a chilling performance that transforms the mysterious feline into a haunting embodiment of Eleanor’s unraveling psyche. Produced by Jet Set Pictures and distributed through breakingglasspictures, the film builds suspense through its unsettling premise and disturbing portrayal of a woman struggling to determine what is real.

Mouser is now available on Fandango at Home, with an expanded rollout across additional VOD platforms expected throughout August, giving horror fans even more opportunities to experience its unsettling descent into madness.

The film has also earned recognition on the festival circuit, winning the Audience Choice Award for Feature Film at the Indie Vegas Film Festival and Best Original Screenplay for a Feature Film at the Marina del Rey Film Festival in Beverly Hills.
