## Caption

Feeling desperately behind everyone else, but I’ve been spending the past week trying to collect my thoughts around last weekend with Roam Media Core. I’m not sure any amount of time is going to help me completely take in everything I was given from this experience, but it deserved a long ass post (even though I’m not going to even be able to scratch the surface).

Applying to this program was terrifying. I constantly doubt my worth in the space and felt vulnerable putting myself out there as a photographer, especially one looking for guidance. It was scary to put myself out there and to trust that my work and mission behind it all was enough. But if there was any environment I would want to put myself out there to grow, it was one surrounded by women empowering one another. It was this program.

As women we’re conditioned to see each other as competition, taught that there isn’t enough space for us all. It’s a lie. In reality, the secret to our success is pulling each other up the mountain together, teaching each other, celebrating our successes, championing each other’s growth. That is what this weekend was, and that is why this program is so important.

Thank you @thewideeyedworld for helping me feel worthy & talented in this space, for challenging me to think in new ways, and for empowering me to feel capable. Thank you @pattyvphotography for being a visionary to uplift women in this space, and for taking a chance on little ol’ me to be a part of this program. Thank you to our mentors for sharing your knowledge & expertise, and knowing that we all shine brighter together. I can only hope to one day uplift other female creatives the way you all have. And thank you to all of the mentees/my new, incredibly talented friends for the best weekend ever, and for making me feel like I belong right here as a photographer.🫶🏼 Doubling down on what I said last weekend…you’re all just so cool.

All of this long rant to say be vulnerable and do the scary thing, kids. It’s so so worth it.
